Birthday card for my nephew

There are so many people born in June (there is even a new baby coming soon, hehe). That means I have to make few birthday cards. The very first one I've made is for my nephew, he is turning 7 in June.  Green is his favourite colour, and it never change! You know some kids change rapidly, they might love red today, but blue on the next day. I doubt that the reason he likes green is because of the cartoon ''Ben 10'',haha~See the 2 little bees on the card? It doesnt make sense to have bees on the birthday card? No no no, it make sense to him perfectly, bee is not his favourite insect but he is the bee. My dad gave him a nick name called ''little bee'' because his name sound the same with ''bee'' in chinese. I've call him ''little bee'' since he is small. That is why I made the card like that. Hope he ll like it~

Father's Day Card

Mother's day has just passed, but I've received an order for father's day card, so I started to make 3 of them.  I've never make father's day card before, so I browsed through internet and tried to get some inspirations from other card makers, I realized that there are so many father's day card in the shape of the shirt with tie. They look interesting to me because it is unlike ordinary card where most of the time in the rectangular shaped or round shaped. After my second thought, I give up the idea because I believe in chinese community a father wouldnt be happy to receive a card like that, in our tradition we burn paper clothes like that for people who had passed away.  Ok, what I've done here is I stick to the ordinary card, a rectangular card, but then I cut some pattern paper to decorate it as a half shirt, and there is a pocket for my father's day sentiment ''no 1 dad''. I thought it would be more fun to make a half shirt instead of a full shirt, the other half I just leave it for your own imagination.

 Here is my second card, when I finished the card, I felt like to add something on the ribbon. Then I got the idea why dont I just add a sparkling diamond? Green plus white plus diamond, I feel that it would be a good combination so I just make it in this way. I don't know if you like it or not, but I do. So here it is.

My third card, this is just a very simple father's day card with some alphabets. Cream plus brown is one of my favourite colour combination, I just feel that it is very harmony to look at. I've used versamark wartermark stamp pad to darker the border of the kraft paper to make it looks like a frame, then in the center I arranged 3 rows of alphabet, you can see ''DAD, I heart U'' in diagonal.  Since the  lower part still have some space, then I decided to stamp another sentiment '' you are my greatest joy'' from technique tuesday, it just fit there perfectly! Enjoy!

Life with you is one amazing adventure

昨晚做好了一张卡，一位男生要送给他女友的。因为他们开始交往的那一天落在25号，所以特别要求要加个25th. 对， 你没有看做我也没有弄错，那个名字的拼音是正确的～！一开始看到时我还怀疑是不是拼错了，再次和买主肯定后确定是正确的～！做这张卡有个小插曲，照例我都会在印完字体之后马上清理我的clear stamp，向来我都是用湿纸巾擦干净，昨天手痒就直接拿去洗手盆的水龙头底下冲洗，谁知道！竟然把我的小小alphabet ''i''给冲下水管啦！二话不说马上关水，当下恨不得把水管拆开，可是怎么可能。。。后来只好等我家老板回来弄，也开不了，让我欲哭无泪啊～还好还好，后来老板问了个问题，‘这水通向那里的？’ 哦～这提醒了我水不就通去冲凉房吗，哈哈，后来老板开水我就在冲凉房接。小小'i'啊～看你又回来啦～失而复得的感觉真好啊～

Shopping at smidapaper

I've heard of smidapapert this shop for some time, but never got the chance to pay it a visit until today.
It is a craft shop selling a lot of beautiful pattern paper which is really nice for scrapbook and card making. They are selling some other tools such as stamp set ribbons, buttons, alphabets chipboard and etc. If you are living in penang and you are interested in scrapbook and card making you can have a look there. Since they are only open on certain days through out the months so you might want to check on their blog with the schedule before you head over.  This is the link

They are having a mini sale on their pattern paper since 19th april until today,  I've grabbed 3 on the bargain corner for only rm5. It is definitely worth to buy because normally one piece of pattern already cost me rm 5! (some even more than that)

Here are some paper I've grabbed, arent they look beautiful and nice? I love it! I couldnt help to stop picking them at smidapaper, Im just obsessed with the beautiful colour and I hope one day I can have my own craft room with plenty of tools and paper, hahaha~! Last time I bought a heat gun from SSS (US) but because of the the voltage problem I just cant use it in Malaysia, sigh, waste of my money. I was hoping to get one in smidapaper but they are currently out of the stock, fortunately the nice lady (I believe she owns the shop) said she can order one for me, might get it end of this month. Heat gun is used to melt embossing powder to achieve the embossing effect for sentiment or design. It is also called embossing technique.  I wouldnt know all about this if I didnt start learning card making.  There are so many different tools and technique to be used. Maybe one day I should make some videos to show how I make my cards. Im not professional though, just want to share with you all about it and give you a better idea what is stamping, what is embossing and etc.

五月十三号是母亲节我做了一些卡片。 上面这张是我花了很长时间才做好的一张卡，下面蕾丝部分弄好了很久， 上面就一直加不进东西，几个心移来移去都觉得不满意。最后放好位置后突然觉得不如加几条白线来把心型连起来，也可以顺便添一添空间，就这样，画一画我觉得不如就弄成像一棵树好了，弄好右边的，左边我再加两个心，就像刚发芽的小树苗。所以我给她取名，growing love，爱就像生命，慢慢的发芽，慢慢的成长。
